How Salon Forum Tacoma began….

The idea to bring Salon Forum to Tacoma, Washington came to me in a rush at 30,000 ft. while flying between Los Angeles and Seattle. With the Los Angeles Times in hand, I turned to the “Living Well” section and was instantly drawn to “A salon in Bel-Air takes up the grand tradition of women assembling for intellectual stimulation.”

The concept of a collection of interesting, accomplished women meeting for enlightened conversation was an instant hook for me. Reading that it is hosted in a private home with a guest speaker sounded like such a great idea. It came across to me as an opportunity to make life richer for the women of Tacoma.

I was inspired! I had to do this! I called Barbara Goldberg,  founder of Salon Forum, to ask about using her model in Tacoma. Her generosity of creative spirit and support has helped me get this going on my turf.

So, it is my pleasure to welcome you to Salon Forum and the opportunity to meet other interesting women, to enjoy stimulating evenings and perhaps make new friends.

It is my intent to host a Salon Forum bi-monthly in my home, having about six events a year, so watch the “Coming Events” page under SF Tacoma. We will have a speaker at every event who will address a topic that will hopefully be an opportunity for new learning and personal growth.
